Balsamic dressings are my go-to dressings for salads whether I’m out at a restaurant or at home and THIS recipe is a keeper! This maple balsamic herb dressing is rich, tangy and tastes amazing drizzled on salads, grilled veggies, as a marinade for chicken, fish or steak, and so much more. It’s also easily made right in your blender in less than 5 minutes so you can easily whip this dressing up any time you’re in need of a delicious burst of flavor! Homemade dressings are super simple to throw together, are budget-friendly and honestly just taste so much better than the bottled stuff from the store.

Ingredients You’ll Need
This easy maple balsamic dressing requires just a few simple ingredients that you probably already have at home in your pantry or fridge! Here’s what you’ll need:
- Balsamic vinegar – this is the star of this dressing and adds such a rich, tangy flavor! Make sure to use a quality balsamic vinegar to get the most flavor
- Olive oil – I like to use a good olive oil that doesn’t have to be expensive, just make sure it’s cold-pressed and organic for the most flavor (in my opinion)
- Maple syrup – lightly sweetens this dressing without using any refined sugar, but you could also use honey or other natural sweetener
- Dijon mustard – this adds a little zip and helps to emulsify the dressing
- Fresh thyme – fresh thyme (or fresh rosemary) really adds such a fresh taste to this dressing, but you could use dried thyme or dried rosemary as well
- Salt + pepper
How to Make Maple Balsamic Herb Dressing
Making homemade dressings and vinaigrettes are literally SO dang easy and take less than 5 minutes! I personally like to blend the ingredients together using a blender or NutriBullet because it really emulsifies the dressing, but you could also just whisk everything together or shake it all in a jar, if you prefer. If you do use a blender, just make sure to mix in the fresh thyme after blending. Then you can easily store the dressing in a sealed airtight container in the fridge until you’re ready to use. This dressing will last up to 2 weeks in the fridge, but definitely tastes best as fresh as possible.
I personally like to store my dressings in mason jars because they have a nice tight seal, they are easy to take on-the-go, and you can just add all your ingredients and give the jar a good shake!

- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Combine all the ingredients except for the fresh thyme into a blender and process until smooth or simply whisk together everything in a mason jar until emulsified.
- This dressing can be stored in a sealed, airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. The olive oil may become solid after being stored in the fridge which is normal, so let the dressing sit out on the counter for about 10 minutes before serving and just give it a good shake.
