Alberta’s Superior Schooling minister says he’s keen to assist Athabasca College with no matter it desires — together with cash — to relocate 500 staff to the small city that is the college’s namesake however says the college has not stepped up.

“I have been provided to supply any form of help that the college wants. They have not requested for something,” Demetrios Nicolaides mentioned in a weekend interview.

Nicolaides mentioned his division beforehand requested the college for a concrete plan by June 30 to develop the bodily presence of the college within the city of two,800.

ASHEVILLE – After first announcing the move in the spring of 2022, Galen College of Nursing has opened an Asheville location and is positioning itself as a future source of health care worker talent in Western North Carolina.

Officials cut the ribbon on the 16,900-square-foot campus at 30 Town Square Blvd. in Biltmore Park Dec. 15. Asheville’s is now part of a network of campuses in seven other states, all with a total of about 9,000 students.

Supporters of impeached President Pedro Castillo have been blocking major roads across Peru

Peru’s President Dina Boluarte has ruled out resigning, saying it would not solve the political crisis sparked by the ousting of her predecessor, Pedro Castillo.

President Boluarte renewed her call for Congress to approve early elections, as a way to curb the street protests that have claimed more than 20 lives.

Congress has dismissed this proposal.

Demonstrators backing Mr Castillo want Ms Boluarte to go – as well as early elections and the closure of Congress.

Education Notebook: Parkview Health celebrates renovated student lab at Randallia site | Schools

Renovations to a student laboratory have made it possible for Parkview Health to train more people for a lesser-known career field that has a significant effect on patient care, a news release said.

The classrooms and offices at the lower level of Parkview Hospital Randallia were also remodeled, allowing the Parkview Medical Laboratory Science program to admit up to 20 students a year, the release said. It noted the program previously could accept nine pupils annually.

Its focus is to prepare students to pass their exams for national certification, which is required by most employers, the release said.

Swiss Engineering Group ABB Fined $4.3 Million

ZURICH (Reuters) – Swiss engineering and technology group ABB has been fined 4 million Swiss francs ($4.3 million) by the country’s Attorney General in connection with a bribery case in South Africa.

The Attorney General’s office on Friday said the penalty was imposed on ABB for “not having taken all necessary and reasonable organizational provisions in order to prevent bribery payments to foreign officials in South Africa”.

ABB and South Africa’s National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) this week reached an agreement that the company will pay reparations for its involvement in state corruption, the crime agency said on Thursday.

Public Education Foundation accepts scholarship applications

The Public Education Foundation is accepting applications for more than $5 million in college scholarships.

Current Clark County high school seniors and college students are invited to apply until Jan. 31. More than 900 scholarships are available.

“Hundreds of generous donors within our community are making it possible for our students to pursue their post-secondary dreams,” Foundation CEO Rich Broome said in a news release Tuesday. “We applaud their incredible efforts and invite others to join us as we support our students on their paths to future success.”
