This recipe is my take on brussels sprouts, but make it a salad! This dish is garlicky, lemony and the warm fluffy rice tastes amazing with the tender brussels sprout leaves and crunchy walnuts. I am well aware that not everyone is a fan of brussels sprouts (haters where are you??), but I actually find this dish to be a little more palatable for those who don’t really love brussels when the leaves are separated

Plan for new South Side high school narrowly passed by Chicago Board of Education, amid both opposition and praise

Despite declining student enrollment in Chicago Public Schools and lingering concerns from neighborhood groups, the Chicago Board of Education on Wednesday narrowly approved a plan to purchase land and take the first steps toward building a proposed $120 million Near South Side high school.

The board voted 4-3 in support of buying property at 23rd Street and Wabash Avenue for $10.3 million to exchange with the Chicago Housing Authority, which would lease to the board a 1.7-acre site at 2450 S. State St. — once the site for the former Ickes Homes public housing complex — for the high school.

Yukon education department accidentally leaks student data

A few errant keystrokes by an education department worker exposed the data of more than 500 Yukon students, according to a notification obtained by CBC News.

“[T]he breach involves a risk of significant harm to your privacy,” reads the letter to affected students. The letter says names, phone numbers, email addresses, dates of birth and social insurance numbers were all included.
