Sanders taps Florida education leader to replace Key as Arkansas’ secretary of education

Gov.-elect Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced Thursday her plan to nominate a key official in Florida’s education system as secretary for the Arkansas Department of Education.

Sanders, during a morning news conference at the Arkansas State University System office, announced his intention to appoint Jacob Oliva as the head of Arkansas’ education system.

Oliva currently serves as the division of public schools chancellor for the Florida Department of Education. He oversees the teaching and learning of more than 2.9 million students in approximately 3,600 public schools.

He would replace Johnny Key.

Grand Canyon Education, Inc. (NASDAQ:LOPE) Shares Sold by Pacer Advisors Inc.

Pacer Advisors Inc. lowered its stake in shares of Grand Canyon Education, Inc. (NASDAQ:LOPE – Get Rating) by 25.4% during the third quarter, HoldingsChannel.com reports. The institutional investors owned 78,077 shares of the company’s stock after selling 26,651 shares during the quarter. ASHEVILLE – After first announcing the move in the spring of 2022, Galen College of Nursing has opened an Asheville location and is positioning itself as a future source of health care worker talent in Western North Carolina.

Officials cut the ribbon on the 16,900-square-foot campus at 30 Town Square Blvd. in Biltmore Park Dec. 15. Asheville’s is now part of a network of campuses in seven other states, all with a total of about 9,000 students.
